1.4 TSO ExplanationThe TSO'd AT 150 is designed to be instrument panel mounted within the cabin environment of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, using piston or turbine single or multi- engines. It will operate and has been tested up to 30,000 feet for installations in non- pressurized as well as pressurized aircraft, however, it is TSO'd to 15,000 feet. This equipment requires direct current power but is designed to be installed In aircraft that have additional on board alternating current sources. There are twelve Environmental Test Procedures established by RTCA Document DO-138. These are identified on the TSO nameplate. The explanation of the Environmental Limits for each of these categories are as follows: AT 150 TSO - C74c Class 1A, Environmental Category DAPAAAXXXXXX Ambient Temperature - Altitude AT 150 TSO - Category D
MP 10 - Category BG
Humidity AT 150 TSO - Category A Standard Humidity for equipment intended for installation in Civil Aircraft. These units have been tested under the following humidity conditions: +50 C (+122 F) at 95% RH, reduced to +38 C (+100 F) with humidity maintained as high as possible. This cycle was repeated twice for a total of 48 hours of exposure. Within 15 minutes* after exposure, the units were operated and met all specifications. * TSO requires that all specifications be met within 4 hours after exposure. Vibration AT 150 TSO - Category P Will meet requirements when mounted in the instrument panel of any type of piston or turbine, single engine or multiengine fixed wing or rotary wing aircraft. The maximum vibration limits are 0.10 inch double amplitude from 5 to 17 Hz, 1.5G constant acceleration from 17 to 55 Hz, 0.25G from 55 to 2000 Hz. MP 10 - Category JN Will meet requirements when mounted anywhere in the fuselage of any fixed wing, single or multiengine piston aircraft, or fuselage mounted in either piston or turbine engine rotary wing aircraft. The maximum vibration limits are 0.10 inch double amplitude from 5 to 17 Hz, 1.5G constant acceleration from 17 to 35 Hz, 0.02 inch double amplitude from 38 Hz to 55 Hz, and 3.OG constant acceleration from 55 Hz to 2000 Hz. Audio Frequency Magnetic Field Susceptibility AT 150 TSO - Category A This equipment may be installed in aircraft which have alternating current power sources, including those rated at more than 250 volt amps. It is not susceptible to alternating current power source pick up. Radio Frequency Susceptibility AT 150 TSO - Category A This equipment has been tested and is not affected by interference from other on board electronic equipment which meet Category A, Radio Frequency Spurious Emission Requirements of the TSO (RTCA Document DO-138). Radio Frequency Spurious Emission AT 150 TSO - Category A This equipment has been tested and is not affected by interference from other on board electronic equipment which meet Category A, Radio Frequency Spurious Emission requirements of the TSO (RTCA Document DO-138). Other Environmental Conditions AT 150 TSO - Categories XXXXXX The letter "X", denotes that recognized installat1on practices in Civil Aircraft normally do not encounter these Environmental Conditions and are therefore not tested. These remaining six categories which are shown X'ed from Left to Right refer to: Explosion. ..Waterproofness. ..Hydraulic Fluid. ..Sand and Dust. ..Fungus. ..Salt spray 1-4 1.4.1 AT 150 AntennaThe AT 150 Antenna meets the requirements of TSO-C74b Class 1, Environmental Category /JA/JAAAXXXXXX. |
